The following animals are classified as furbearers: beaver, bobcat, coyote, gray
fox, mink, muskrat, nutria, opossum, river otter, red fox, raccoon and skunk.
2017-2018 SEASON

The trapping season will open STATEWIDE on November 20, 2017, and will
close March 31, 2018. Trapping season on management (See management
areas in the link above.)

Louisiana Level One Trappers Course

This is a free online trappers course. It can be completed at the student's own pace and at the students convenience. Short quizzes follow each lesson and can be repeated as often as necessary. A certificate can be downloaded and printed at the end of the course.
